The Pediatric Orthopedic Center

The fellow will be integrated within a Pediatric Orthopedics practice. As such, there will be exposure to all aspects of podiatry including but not limited to acquired/congenital deformities, trauma, sports medicine, and adult manifestations of such.

The fellow will be expected to assist and eventually manage an outpatient clinic, ER call and surgical cases. Fellowship represents an additional year of subspecialty training and will be hands-on, involving direct patient care, not merely observation.

This fellowship is based out of a pediatric orthopaedic group that performs approximately 450 foot and ankle surgical cases per annum. The fellow is expected to master the diagnosis and surgical treatment of pediatric forefoot, rearfoot and ankle pathology including metadductus, bunions, multiplane deformities, flatfoot, cavus foot, gait abnormalities, neuromuscular conditions, clubfoot, trauma, etc. The fellowship will have a concentration in correction of limb deformities with gradual correction via external fixation. Access to EOS scan technology.

The fellow will be exposed to surgical and office billing and coding. Practice management content will be reviewed with the fellow in a lecture format.

The fellow is expected to participate in and generate at least one scholarly research project and present work at the ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference and POSNA meeting.

Join us for the Podiatric Resident Course featuring Sawbone Workshop and Cadaveric Lab Training. This in-person course will take place on 12 - 14 Apr 2023 at UNT, FT. WORTH, TX, and will be conducted in English. The course is designed to provide podiatric residents with hands-on training opportunities in the latest techniques and technologies used in foot and ankle surgery.
This course is a unique opportunity for residents to learn directly from leading experts in the field through practical sessions with cadavers and sawbones. Participants will have the opportunity to refine their skills in a variety of surgical procedures and gain valuable insights into best practices and new developments in the field of podiatric surgery.
